Santiago de Cali, better known as Cali, is quickly positioning itself as one of the most popular destinations for medical tourism. Last year alone, Cali received almost 50,000 visitors in search of high quality medical treatments. This is due to the excellence of its doctors and medical centers. A sign of this quality is the fact that Cali is home not only to the best hospital in the country, but also to 2 of the best hospitals in the region, and its institutions have even been included in Newsweek magazine’s ranking of “best hospitals in the world”. However, Cali has much more to offer. This energetic city vibrates with culture, good food and beautiful scenery. Cali is known as the Capital of Salsa, thanks to the importance of this rhythm in its history and culture. In the city there are many places to dance Salsa and amazing shows to see. Be sure to visit some of them during your stay. Cali is also known for its delicious food. From its famous specialty coffee, exotic fruits, coconut-infused seafood casseroles and fried corn and plantain delicacies, Cali has something delicious for every taste.
Finally, thanks to its location, Cali has a pleasant warm climate all year round, and plenty of natural beauty to see. During your stay, be sure to take a walk along the Cali riverbank, visit the botanical gardens and if you can, plan a short getaway to the beautiful mountains that surround the city. As if all of the above wasn’t enough, in Cali you will find some of the warmest and friendliest people you will ever meet.
We are located about 40 minutes from the Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport in Cali, Colombia. The airport code is CLO and offers direct flights from Miami, New York, Fort Lauderdale and Panama City, among others. Simply type the airport code (CLO) into your favorite airfare search engine and you will get many options.
It is very easy and convenient to get around using Uber or a cab service/application such as cabify, however, if you prefer, we can offer you a transportation package that will include all transportation to/from the office as well as airport pick-up and drop-off. For very large treatments we may be able to offer complimentary transportation. Contact your patient coordinator for more information.
Because each patient is unique, we believe it is best for each patient to select the accommodations that best suit their needs. Some patients travel alone, others with families, some prefer Airbnbs with kitchens to prepare their meals, while others prefer hotels with breakfast included, so they can enjoy the local cuisine at lunch and dinner. This is why we do not work with a specific hotel or Airbnb, but serve as your guide to select the best option for you. Simply let your patient coordinator know what type of accommodations you are looking for and they will be happy to provide you with some recommendations. Although we receive cash (USD), most businesses in Colombia do not. That is why the most convenient way to pay in general is by Credit or Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). It avoids the need to travel with large amounts of money and having to exchange it or pay conversion fees. Simply inform your bank that you will be traveling abroad and making payments. We accept all major cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please note that we do not accept uncovered or private labels.
